Sample Receipt & Splitting Team Leader

SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES:

This document outlines the job description, duties and other requirements of the Team Leader responsible for Sample Receipt, Water Splitting and Solid Splitting areas. This role is reportable to the Business Unit Manager. The Sample Receipt & Splitting Team Leader is responsible for the management of the Sample Receipt and Sample Splitting teams, and for ensuring all samples are received, handled, logged in correctly and sub-sampled appropriately, according to Eurofins Environment protocols.

 

This position requires the delegation of work to other employees in this area, training of staff members to

adequately perform the procedures, and supervision of staff members.

 

It is the responsibility of the Sample Receipt & Splitting Team Leader to ensure that procedures are followed correctly and that samples are stored correctly and entered into the system promptly.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:

- Talking/sending emails to clients to clarify analysis/issues prior to login.

- Overseeing the login of all eskies/jobs/additional analysis.

- Managing the Sample Receipt, Water Splitting and Solid Splitting teams.

- Sample Receipt – including storage of samples on arrival, and registration.

- Checking registration against the COC and emailing COC back to clients.

- Staff Training – including assessing each and every training by emphasising critical points.

- Supervision – including putting new staff under close supervision of a senior person for couple of months.

- Working closely with Business Unit Manager and Assistant Service Managers.

- Supervising and ensuring correct sub-sampling processes are followed by Water Splitting and Solid Splitting.

- Ensuring biosecurity procedures and regulations are complied with for samples originating from outside of Australia.

- Act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics, and all other relevant policies and procedures, as updated from time to time.

 

EVOLUTION:

In a fast growing group employees are frequently being offered increased or changed responsibilities. This is an integral part of the role within Eurofins. As a result, the position duties and responsibilities of this position, and/or this position description may change from time to time at the discretion of Eurofins. In addition, the position may involve other duties and responsibilities that are not specifically included in this position description.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles is preferred. Laboratory experience is also preferred. Ideally this person should have a Science qualification and a working knowledge of chemistry.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS:

- Holidays: According to local legislation and Eurofins local internal rules. Peak periods of work, during which leave applications may be limited.

- This document does not preclude any other work or duties that need to be performed. From time to time, the Business Unit Manager may assign other tasks to be performed.

 

SUMMARY:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles is preferred.

- Expected Salary: $96,505 AUD per year
