. This is a contract, on-site opportunity within a dedicated Medical Practice environment, offering a unique chance to provide essential psychiatric care to diverse patient populations.

As a Locum Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental health conditions. You will work closely with our clinical team to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care in a supportive and fast-paced setting. Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate
Provide both short-term and long-term psychiatric care
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, and primary care physicians
Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
Participate in case reviews and clinical consultations
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
Ensure compliance with medical and legal regulations
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric practices and treatments

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
Completed residency training in Psychiatry
Associate-level experience in psychiatric care
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
Compassion and empathy in patient interactions
Willingness to work on-site in Newport

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-5p)

1:4 beeper call rotation, evenings and weekends

Setting: Outpatient

Daily Volume: 12-14 patients

Patient Population: Primarily young adults and geriatrics, ages 18+

Case Types: Addiction medicine and substance abuse

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
