This is a contract position that requires on-site work, offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to patient care within the Medical Practice industry.
As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders. You'll be working closely with our medical staff to ensure that all patients receive the attention and treatment they deserve. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as required
- Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients on gastrointestinal health and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology practices and guidelines
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Gastroenterology
- Valid medical license in the state of Iowa
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in gastroenterology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Prior experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
Schedule: 7a-3:30p, 2 days per week
No call or weekends required
10-12 cases per day
Duties: Evaluations, follow‑ups, consults, and procedures
Full range of colonoscopy and EGD procedures, including biopsies, polypectomies, snare removals, ablations, variceal banding, and control of bleeding
Any active, unrestricted U.S. medical license accepted
EMR: CPRS
Must be board-certified
DEA, BLS/ACLS required
