**Job Description:**
The position involves providing comprehensive obstetric care for women throughout the continuum of pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering outpatient care to OB/GYN patients, addressing both preventive and acute/chronic medical conditions.
- Conducting thorough assessments, diagnosing conditions, and formulating treatment plans.
- Offering patient education and counseling on various health issues.
- Performing necessary diagnostic procedures and tests relevant to obstetric care.
The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in managing the medical care of pregnant patients, exhibiting strong empathy and communication skills.
A solid understanding of community resources and referral systems is essential, along with familiarity with prenatal intervention techniques and the dynamics affecting prenatal care. Knowledge of available programs for substance abuse, diabetes management, and perinatal education is vital.
This role requires the ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
The weekly schedule includes two 8-hour clinic days and one 24-hour call day supported by OB Hospitalists, with a weekend call rotation of 1:4 (Friday/Saturday).
**Qualifications:**
- Current licensure and certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board.
- Experience in perinatal education, diabetes management, and addressing substance use issues.
- Ohio licensure required (or willingness to obtain).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
- Must maintain a clean malpractice and licensure record.
**Certification Requirements:**
- Board Certification is mandatory.
- State Licensure Requirements must be fulfilled in Ohio.
- Minimum 2 years of CNM experience is essential.
